The Role
As our Principal Distributed Systems Engineer, you will not be "taking tickets." You will own the architecture that ingests, cleans, and serves the financial history of the world.

We are currently 2 founders handling a massive scale. We need a peer, not a subordinate. You will take our existing Python/Django/Postgres stack and re-architect it to handle global expansion (Asia, US, MENA) without latency.

What You Will Build (The Challenges)

• The Firehose: Optimize ETL pipelines that ingest millions of PDFs from volatile government registries (ESMA, FSA, SEC) and convert them to clean Markdown.
• Global Latency: Architect a distributed database strategy (Postgres/AWS/Azure) that serves data to London, New York, and Singapore in milliseconds.
• Resilience: Build self-healing scrapers and infrastructure that survives when government websites change their DOM structure without warning.

Who You Are

• Polymath Engineer: You are elite at Python/Django, but you are not defined by it. You can jump into DevOps (Docker/K8s), Database Optimization (Postgres), or pure algorithm design as needed.
• High Agency: You don't wait for permission or a Jira ticket. If you see a slow query, you kill it. If you see a broken pipeline, you fix it.
• Experience: You have likely been a Lead Engineer, CTO of a smaller startup, or a Staff Engineer at a data-heavy scale-up.
• Rate of Learning: You value raw intelligence and speed over "doing things the corporate way."

• Frontend: Tailwind / JS (Good to know, not required)
